Biography

Dave has been practicing as a rehabilitation counselor since 1980 and is currently employed as a Disability Management Consultant with UC Agriculture and Natural Resources.

He is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certificate Number 4945, by The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, since 1986.

Dave holds a Master of Arts Degree in Education from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism also from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an Associate of Arts Degree in Sociology from San Jose Community College. He has completed additional graduate course work at California State University, Sacramento. I have over 700 hours of continuing education in rehabilitation counseling.

Dave is an established vocational expert and “Vocational Training Counselor,” having performed over 250 vocational evaluations, for Family Courts in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo Counties under Family Code Section 4331. He is a presenter on vocational issues for the Sacramento County Family Law Section, and has published articles on vocational issues in the Family Law Counselor.

In the course of his work, Dave has evaluated over 1,500 industrially injured workers for training and employment potential. These evaluations include intake assessment; administration and interpretation of interest, aptitude and cognitive testing; labor market research; counseling; earning capacity; evaluation for and placement into training programs; monitoring of progress in training; and delivery of job development and placement assistance.
